  • Out of budget dresses!

I've fallen in love with two dresses that are both really similar, but can't afford either of them due to a really small budget. I was hoping to find a dress under £1000, but it's proving really tricky. The two dresses I love are Lynn Ashworth's Grace and Caroline Castigliano's Beautiful, but I can't afford either of them new and can't find any second hand for sale. I'm so upset, as I've found the perfect shape and style but can't buy it. My mum came with me to try them on and we both ended up in floods of tears! I felt so beautiful in them and don't know what to do about it! Maybe I should just go for a completely different, much cheaper design, but I know I'll always be thinking of the other dress and that I looked better in it. Help!

Changed my mind about dress

help!

ive bought and paid in full for my dress - Essence D576 - loved it at first but have now seen a nicer one in another shop (Maggie sottero Rosetta) but the shop ive bought mine from wont refund me even though the dress is unaltered and hasnt left the shop - i rushed into it and only went to one shop. They cant order in my dream dress as its not one of their designers.

Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do - ive spent £1095 on it and need to make at least half of it to avoid my h2b killing me!

please help.....

Out of budget dresses!

Hi, it's your big day, and how often do you get married?

I fell in love with a dress that is well over my budget. My budget was 1000 pounds, and I ended up with a dress costing me over 3000 pounds! I ended up buying a Lazaro dress and do not regret the decision because I feel beautiful in it.

However, before I bought it, I did try to find the same dress for cheaper on the internet, including previously owned. I found that other people posted ads wanting to buy this dress, and figured that there is a resale value for it. I also asked my bridal consultant for advice on resale value about several dresses including the one I bought, and she was helpful.

Selling your dress after the wedding could be one option, which will help reduce the cost, if this is something you want to do. For my particular Lazaro dress, I expect the resale value to be around 50% of what I purchased it for.

Good luck!

Out of budget dresses!

I too am in this situation. Its a Maggie dress which I tried on without looking at the tag and now am in love with it!!

A friend of mine actually ordered hers from the USA which resulted in nearly 50% cost saving, so I may look into that....just an idea!

Out of budget dresses!

Have you had a look on Ebay? They do copies of designer gowns at knockdown prices, if you get it made in China. I've ordered mine to be custom made for less than £100. Bargain! Just check that the seller you use has a good amount of feedback and it should be fine! Only you would know that it isn't genuine and just think of the money you could save!
