Veil cancellation dilemma
Hi,
I'm quite new to this but have found people's comments so useful with other dilemmas I thought I might as well give it a try. I wondered if anyone was clued up on consumer rights?
I am getting married in December and chose my dress at the beginning of this year. While in the shop I was also persuaded to try a beautiful veil, which was very expensive, but looked lovely. I was apprehensive about the cost but got swept away with the whole thing (as you do). An order was put in for my dress and the veil in April. Having a bit of time to reflect on the spiralling costs of the wedding I decided to canel the order for the veil, but have been told I cannot do that as it has already gone to the supplier and it is not their policy to cancel. I could understand if the veil had been made, but it hasn't yet.
As you can imagine, we (my H2B and myself) aren't too impressed - the veil is £260 - money which we can't afford. We don't understand why we cannot cancel the order - we are giving six months notice! My H2B is now looking to take it further and I am upset because obviously I am still buying my dress fom this shop so don't want to spoil the relationship for when I have my fittings, etc.
Rant over.
