  • WHERE?? to get married

  • Posted by DTWW

hi... our dream is on lake garda, in a garden, by a lake, but can't afford a wedding planner or trip out there beforehand to view all venues... so now considering a scottish loch - same kind of thing... but not sure really if the scottish thing is a bit hypocritical seeing as we're neither scottish. there will be no more than 20 people, including me & dF, and our 3 kids... so where would be good? there's gotta be water, and a garden, and some nice scenery... and as far away from London as possible! thanks in advance, i'm cracking up trying to make decisions!!!

WHERE?? to get married

If you don't want to go as far as Scotland, how about the Lake District? Gorgeous scenery there... In a way, having a small wedding you can justify going further afield for your ceremony.

WHERE?? to get married

You could try the Duck Bay Marina (it's a hotel), it is right on Loch Lomond, so only an hour from Glasgow.... I haven't been there for about 10 yrs but we held our Schools Leavers dance there and it was beautiful. They have a Balcony/decking that looks right over the water! Amazing pictures! Have a look at the website...

The Gallery has a few pictures but I think enough to give you an idea!

As for not being Scottish I wouldn't worry about it.... I'm Scottish as is my H2B and we are getting married in the Cotswolds... there will be lots of Kilts flying about Oxfordshire next April! :)
