help needed!! I have a bridesmaid who is trying to impose her wedding plans on me. So far I have just been able to thanks her for her advice and pick what I like but we have reached a dilema- bridesmaids dresses. I am having a summer wedding and would really like my bridesmaids in shin length dresses but she feels bridesmaids should be in full length gowns, and wont change her mind. My other bridesmaid will wear whatever but is smaller so would prefer to wear the shorter length too. My H2B says I should just tell her what I want but would really like to keep everyone happy, any advice?!

hi laurash. I have the same prob. my maid of honour is my sister, and she keeps telling me that she doesn't like my colours, ideas, decisions etc. and that i'm making a mistake by choosing what i like. I understand she's a little dubious od the b/m dress coulour - black. but she doesn't like anything. But i had to tell her that since i'm paying, and its my day, that she'll have to keep her criticisms (sp?) to herself.

Humour her... go shopping for dresses and try both styles on... then when YOU find the one you want compliment her, tell her she looks fabulous in it... so fab she couldn't possibly dream of wearing another dress (get your other BM involved too!) by the time your finished she will think she is going to upstage you! haha! (which of course she won't!)

I had the same problem as I wanted a tea-length BM dress, but my sister wanted a full length (she plays football and get lots of knocks to her shins), I thought the full length dress would drown her because she is short. But we compromised and tried both, in the end we went with the full length as it suited her best!

two words- your wedding. when she is organising her wedding can you really see her taking on your instructions... no... didnt think so.
You have what you want - its YOUR dream day not hers. nod your head and just go with what you want. believe me - this will make you happier in the long run and probanly save your friendship xx
