Hi Everyone... 3 weeks to go!
As I wrote the words 3 weeks to go I can hardly believe them myself. This week things have really started hotting up, and I do feel very unprepared. I’ve been trying to focus on sorting out my photographer and it’s been a much more difficult job than I’d imagined. There are a few things that I wished I’d known before, so perhaps I can share my hard earned advice with you.
Go by recommendation, despite what the photographer will say, or what his portfolio is like, you’ll feel much happier if your friend tells you they were delighted with the results and his/her performance on the day.
Know how long you want the photographer – there seems to be many packages, and if you don’t know what you want or how long for, it can feel like a minefield.
Finally decide if you want a classic album, a coffee table book, or just a disk with photos on it. This will change your quote dramatically.
So with all the above learnt, I’m just going through the final stages of deciding. Next week I will let you know who we’ve chosen and I’m sure there’ll be a huge sigh of relief on my part!
On a slightly lighter, fluffier note, I had a wonderful surprise this week. You may remember I had spoken about tiaras in this very column and how I wished that I could be reunited with my Aunts real diamond tiara?
Well, from the blue (in fact from this very blog!) I received an email from a lady called Adele Partridge who has a company called deebeesbridal.co.uk. Adele asked if I would be interested in one of her tiaras to go with my dress, to have in the event that I didn’t manage to track down the tiara of my step aunt Lady Tuck. I had a look at the website and fell in love with her designs, and it didn’t take me long to agree! I also had a rather eccentric request to go with it....would it be at all possible to have a matching tiara for my dog Tinkerbell?
I sent a photo of my wedding dress, and a few notes on the design, and a picture of Tinkerbell. Quick as a flash a parcel arrived at my doorstep. Inside I unveiled a beautiful treasure for both me and little Tinkerbell my Japanese Spitz, and on trying them on, I fell in love with them immediately...who couldn’t ? I’m absolutely delighted with the designs, perfect for the vintage style of my wedding dress, and an exquisite combination of being glamorous without being flashy. DeeBees made it all so easy, AND I love the result. Well that’s the head sorted, and the pooch...now for the rest of the entourage!
I’ll be back next week, talking catering, revealing my photographer, and filling you in with some new found beauty secrets...
