...1 week to
“Last minute Lulu” brides, take heart! NO-ONE could be more disorganised than me at this stage in their Bridal Game! As I write with only one week to go, the flowers for the actual Church and my bridal bouquet are not completely confirmed, I haven’t yet bought my cake, and I’m still manically sorting out the Order of Service. Bizarrely though, through all of this, I have an incredible sense of calm. Perhaps it’s the showbiz in me, I know it will “be alright on the night”!
The good news is though, that whatever does go wrong, I will at least have a DVD to watch it back! As you can see I’m getting all the priorities right. Initially I wasn’t actually intending on having a DVD, but when I came across the gang at UnveilingMemories.co.uk, I thought again. They are a company that work with a more natural and less intrusive style than some of the more traditional, older firms. Gavin, his partner Amy, and his business partner Alex have done their research. They know that the modern bride wants to keep it real and natural.
They also know that a stressed bride can often want everything her way.....so in their true professional style, they just agreed with me! I shall leave them to it on the day, but I’ve reminded them to make sure they get the bloopers as well as the serious stuff. Sometimes, they’re the best bits!
So aside from that, what else have I done? Well as I speak I’m ready to go for my second (and hopefully last) fitting for the dress. I really want to bring it home now. I’ve made a lovely corner in my Mum’s dressing room and all the accessories are hanging there just waiting for the missing piece of the jigsaw.
Not only that, but I just want to walk around on my own in it, without having to do it in full view of shop assistants and passers by. That was fun before, but now it’s getting serious. My dress & I need to be alone to prepare ourselves. Not only that, I would like to start trying on some jewellery and hair styles and I just feel a bit dumb doing it in the shop.
As I mentioned last week in the blog, I’ve been going hell for leather on the old beauty regime, and have spent a fortune at gorgeousshop.co.uk They are every brides saving grace and they have everything from beauty creams to fake tan for that even glow under the wedding dress. I was going to go au naturel, but when I saw how pasty I looked I decided to get buying some product. This photo was the first batch, but hey you have to look your best on your big day.
Finally good news on my regime at Esporta gyms. Tafara has now managed to help me lose another couple of kilos, and I’m almost at my target weight. Of course the dress fits (in fact they’ve had to take it in), but it feels good to know that I won’t have a jelly belly on the honeymoon. Never a sporty type (apart from dancing and horse riding) I think I’m fitter now that I’m getting married than I’ve ever been in my life. Truly I can run my furthest ever distance without collapsing in a breathless heap......you never know it might be useful when I’ve spent too much on the joint account!
This weekend we’re off on our hen weekend, so I’ll have some great photos of that for you next week, and I’ll be revealing where we’re spending our first night as Mr & Mrs Frey......it’s Sooooo exciting.
See you then.
