  • ... from celebrity favourite salon, Antenna

If you're thinking of having hair extensions for your wedding day, then our Q&A with monofibre specialists, Antenna, should answer all those burning questions...

Q. Will hair extensions look natural?
A. Yes of course. If you want people to think you have natural gorgeous hair then Monofibre is the only choice.

Q. What are they made of?
A. Monofibre is basically man-made hair. It's made of acrylic and is designed to look and feel like natural healthy hair without any of the disadvantages such as split ends, frizzing or having a mind of its own!

Q. How long do they take to put in and how long do they last?
A. A transformation from short to long will take a maximum of three hours. We then recommend you replace your extensions after three months.

Q. Are extensions high maintenance - do they need lots of special products/shampoos?
A. Monofibre hair needs no special treatment other than the recommended shampoo called WASH, a conditioner called SMOOTH and the DAILY CARE SPRAY and soft bristle brush. These specially developed products help to keep your hair soft, silky and easy to manage.

Q. Can I use Monofibre to add volume rather than length?
A. Monofibre is perfect for creating volume in fine hair or changing texture, Monofibre overrides your natural hair to give volume and curls to clients with fine, straight hair.

Q. How do I look after them - can I wash my hair every day?
A.You can wash your hair as much as you like, but you may find that as Monofibre extensions override your natural hair you actaully may not to need to wash you hair as often.

Q. Can I use them to change the colour of my hair?
A. You can use Monofibre to change the effect of the colour for example highlights or lowlights, but not the block colour.

Q. Can I go still go swimming?
A. Yes you can go swimming with Monofibre hair extensions. The chlorine or salt water will not affect them in any way.

Q. Will they fall out naturally or do I need to return to the salon?
A. Removing hair extensions can be done at home but bear in mind it's a lengthy process. The best advice is to visit the salon where they can be removed with less time and effort.
