Fragrance advice from Roja Dove

Fragrance is like the key that unlocks memories and emotions in a more three-dimensional way than any photograph or video can ever do.

When you select your fragrance, don't go with a friend as their taste will affect you. Fragrances are completely individual and personal and only you know what you really like.


Fragrances fall into three categories so go for the one that, most suits your personality.

Floral
This is the broadest category and usually the sweetest of scents so it's perfect for brides with a sunny, carefree view of life. Try Jasmin de Nuits by the Different Co, or La Dix by Balenciaga.

Chypre
These are pared-down sophisticated elegant scents, the fragrance equivalent of a beautiful designer couture dress. Try Ombre Rose by Jean Charles Brosseau or La Parfume by Lalique.

Oriental
This is the "come hither" seductive scent, rich and opulent and will appeal to the hedonist in you! Try Miss Dior by Dior or Tabac Blonde by Caron (all above fragrances available from Harrods' Haute Perfumerie on the 5th floor).

My top tip is to choose your fragrance before your bouquet. You can then use the same (or complementary) flowers for a lasting scent.
