PERMANENT STRAIGHTENING

Invisalign

This is an alternative to fixed braces that uses a series of clear, custom-moulded aligners which fit over your teeth and gradually move them into shape.

Is it right for me? If your teeth are uneven but you can’t face wearing metal braces, Invisalign could be the answer.

How long does it take? Treatment length varies depending on how crooked your teeth are, but the programme is often complete within one year.

Where from and how much? Costs £2000 at the Harley Street Dental Studio.

Visit invisalign.com to find your nearest dentist offering the treatment.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of your tooth – a bit like a false fingernail fits over a nail. They can last up to 20 years, but can chip, or break just like your own teeth.

Is it right for me? Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. They can be used to correct a single stained or discoloured tooth, or to give you a generally brighter, more even smile. They also help close small gaps between the teeth when braces aren’t suitable.
How long does it take? It takes at least two visits to have veneers fitted – the first to prepare the teeth and to match the shade, and the second to fit them.
Where from and how much? Costs between £500 and £1500 per tooth. It’s worth visiting someone who specialises in fitting veneers like Dr Druian of The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry. Access his exclusive Beautiful Smiles web chat here.

WHITENING

BriteSmile

BriteSmile is a professional teeth-whitening system that uses blue light and a gentle 15% hydrogen-peroxide whitening gel to brighten teeth in a single treatment.

Is it right for me? If your teeth are pretty straight but you want a brighter smile for your wedding, this is the treatment for you.
How long does it take? Just an hour but you need to avoid highy-coloured food and drink – like red wine or coffee – for a few days afterwards.
Where from and how much? Available at Skin Health Spas nationwide and costs £500. Click here.

Wy10

Wy10 is the latest professional tooth-whitening system that uses a purer form of hydrogen-peroxide to lighten teeth. Because is contains fewer additives, the hydrogen peroxide reaches the stain molecules much faster and destroys them more effectively.

Is it right for me? If you hate spending time at the dentist, yes!
How long does it take? In just two 10-minute cycles, your teeth can be shades lighter.
Where from and how much? Costs around £775. To find your nearest clinic, visit London Cosmetic Dentistry or visit the Smile Studio.
