My big fab Greek Wedding - 19 weeks to go!
  • My big fab Greek Wedding - 19 weeks to go!

  • This week, bride2b Candida has been ring shopping...

There was no engagement ring when Damien first proposed to me, as he wanted me to help choose, so originally we planned a weekend trip to New York (to get more for our money and an excuse to have a nice break).

Unfortunately, due to work restraints we couldn’t get away, so we started to look online instead.  We found the most amazing website, 77Diamonds.com where you get online prices and boutique service.  You can search online and get a good idea of price but you can also call and speak to someone.

We gave them our budget - which of course I blew! - and an idea of what we wanted and they emailed loads of options.  And once we had picked the stone we could then chose the setting.

This website allows you to place your stone on loads of different settings so you can see what they look like - it's so cool! We eventually settled on a princess cut diamond on a diamond pavé ring (pictured).  It's absolutely stunning.

So when we were thinking about our wedding rings recently, it made sense to go back to 77diamonds.com. I had a good idea of what I wanted: a simple thin white gold band ring that would sit nicely with the engagement ring and actually make it look more stunning! So after trying on just a few wedding rings (and some eternity rings, too) I found just what I was after.

Damien is 6’6, with hands to match, so his ring needed a wide band to look right.  Also because I didn’t get him an engagement ring I wanted his wedding band to be extra special.  The company were really great on advising us on masculine bands with stones in them.

With their expertise, we decided on an 8mm two-tone white gold ring with eight small diamonds spaced equally around the band, it looked fantastic.

So now our wedding rings sit in a very safe secure place and await the big day!

'Til next time,

Candida x
