  • Bring sex back to your wedding

SATC (Sex and the City that is) madness has hit London and Champagne, cosmopolitans and half-naked men were all on offer at the £1m after party for the film on the evening of Monday 12th May.

The theme: the bash had a decadent theme straight out of ancient Greece, with an 8ft statue and fountain in the middle of the room, as well as lots of foliage and ivy. There were also white and black chaise longues and park benches.

The drinks: Champagne and cosmopolitans.

The food: full roast or canapés including soft shell crab, mini-salads and hot dogs.

1. For your own hen party full of naked men, get the Butlers in the Buff to come to your house or to your venue. They’re available for hire, either by the hour or by the day. The butlers are prices from £60 per hour based on an advanced booking of 2 or more hours.

2. Party like the stars by welcoming your own guests to your reception with Bring a trendy cosmopolitan? This one is a ‘Sloppy Joe’ … a great colourful summer cocktail.
Recipe: ¾ oz of Light Rum, ¾ oz Dry Vermouth, ¼ tsp Triple Sec, ¼ tsp Grenadine and juice of 1 lime. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass and serve.

3. The party planners were savvy in using ivy and foliage for their floral decoration. “It’s a great budget way to fill space and make an impact,” says Receptions Style Editor Vanessa Gore. Expert florist Kally Ellis at McQueens recommends picking ivy and other green foliage from your garden.

For your very own wedding fountain, the wedding experts at Peri Peri can help you source one and for Greek style statues and columns, call the guys at Event Prop hire.

Sore feet after dancing? Create your own “chaise longues and benches” chill-out area with the help of the experts at Halo weddings. They even have sofas to hire in the shape of lips. Samantha would approve!
