Sara's Spanish Diary Part 18
  • Sara's Spanish Diary Part 18

  • Every week, find out what Sara's been up to as she plans her July wedding in Spain

Hi Everyone

Luke arrived home safely after his stag do in Majorca this week to my relief. He said he had a brilliant time but was ready to come home after the 3 days (yeah right) Now, that all our stag and hen do’s are over the next time we will all be together is on the wedding day.

I can honestly say that I have turned into the most excitable bride. I’m sure my friends and family would disagree as I have been like this since we set the date. But, suddenly the wedding is 2 weeks away and our diary is now booked every day until we fly to Spain.

We have been very organised but odd little things just keep cropping up. I can strongly recommend that you do not make too many plans for the 3 weeks before your wedding. You will need time to get yourself together and arrange any last minute plans or arrangements.  Also, you do not want to get stressed as you still want to enjoy it.

I had my hair trial on Saturday at Horizon Hair Design in Rochester and it was a huge success. As you know I have been a bit dubious about the clip in hair but it made such a difference. I sat down with Nadine (hair stylist) and showed her the picture of the style I wanted. We decided to try using the extra hair for a bit of body and length. So we clipped the hair in I took one look in the mirror and freaked out! After calming down, we cut the hair to the length into my style and it looked much better.

Nadine used Carmen heated rollers to give me volume and a loose waive, but we had to use ghd straighteners to curl the clip in hair as it didn’t curl very well. After 3 hours of cutting, curling and pinning my hair looked amazing.

Before I arrived at the hairdressers I practised my wedding make-up so I could get an idea of my overall look and it made all the difference. I wanted to make sure that my style of make-up complimented my hair and luckily it did.

Laura came with me to the salon to make notes and watch how Nadine did my hair as she will be doing it on the day. So we are going to have a practice run next week – just so I don’t have a complete nervous breakdown. I am confident that Laura is going to do an amazing job but we both want a practice run before Spain.

We also looked at the finished bridesmaids dresses on Saturday and they looked beautiful. Laura tried her dress on and it fits her like a glove so my other two bridesmaids are going to have their fitting this week.

One of our pageboy’s Charlie had a fall in the garden last week and fractured his shin so his leg is now in plaster, but the doctors have said it should be off before the wedding. I hope he’ll be OK as he will be so upset not being able to run around and play in the pool so fingers crossed the plaster will be off at the end of the week and all healed.

I had another teary moment this week as we saw a sample of our order of service and menus. They look so perfect, we are so happy with what our friend Matt has designed for us. They are just so unique and special to us. So we need to pack them away safely now ready to take them to Spain. Luke suggested posted them to save on excess baggage but I was too nervous of them going missing!

Laura also gave me my earrings this week that she designed for me and they are absolutely beautiful. They match my headdress and dress perfectly. I am gong to pick up my dress next week and I cannot wait to try it all on together, when I’m sure there will be more tears. It should still fit as I have been checking my measurements and I have stayed the same.

We are going to try and have a relaxing weekend as next week its all systems go with fittings, hair trials, ring collections not to mention us both being really busy at work.

It will be last diary next week so I will fill you all in on my last minute preparations

Lets hope the sun is shining so we can relax in our garden!
