  • Every week, find out what Sara's been up to as she plans her July wedding in Spain...

Hi Everyone

I am starting get in panic mode now with less than four months left. I am getting so excited.

We had our wedding rings made this week and they look perfect. A good friend of mine is a jeweller in Hatton Garden so we got him to design and make our rings from us. He already made my engagement ring and at the time we discussed what type of wedding ring I wanted. I chose just a simple 3mm platinum band, as much as I would like a diamond wedding ring after thinking about it we decided on a plain band as more diamonds would be too much with my engagement ring.

Luke also chose a plain band as he doesn’t really wear jewellery; especially with his work, he just wanted something simple. The only problem is they are in the house and I want to wear it now - but we have to wait!

I embarked on my new beauty regime this week. After reading lots of beauty countdowns in YYW's wedding day articles, I gave in! I have always been quite lucky with my skin and have just used a standard cleanser and toners but after having a Dermalogical facial I was sold. I purchased one of their kits to see if my skin would look and feel any better and it did. The products should lasts for up to 6 weeks which I think gives your skin enough time to get used to it – or not! You get a scrub, cleansing gel, toner and moisturiser. So far, so good... although it’s only been a week.

The tricky bit will be deciding what products to buy when I run out as they are quite pricey. But I think they're worth investing in - that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.  I am also having a facial once a month too – which of course to make my skin look better for the wedding but secretly I just like being pampered for an hour.

We finally found a DJ this week - hooray. I ended up just searching on the internet for someone local and found Unlimited Sounds! We chose someone who had a good website with good reviews - so fingers crossed he will be ok. He seems to have all the music we like – even a laser show. We just need to sit down and go through a list of songs we want him to play, which I’m sure will take ages. We need to do a play list for the party in Spain so we might even give him that for the wedding party too.

So getting back to the party – we are still battling with our guest list – we are up to 270 people now. Space isn’t a problem as my in-laws have a big enough garden – it’s just if it rains they will have nowhere to go. Although the weather in July is normally fine but you know what the British weather is like. Also, how on earth do you cater for that many people? I might hand that over to my mother in-law as she is good at catering for large numbers of people. I think Luke and I have got some work to do – we just have too many friends and family.

I received the new Cox and Cox catalogue in the post this week and they have got some beautiful wedding bits. I ordered my guest book (pictured) that is perfect for Spain as it’s a good size and not too heavy with Ryanair’s excess baggage fees, and it was only £9.95! We also ordered a really nice party sign to put at the bottom of our in-laws track so people know where to come to our party. Definitely worth a look!

Have a good week
