Hi Everyone

After having a week of with the flu I have been back on track this week with the wedding planning and what a success it has been! We had a busy Saturday afternoon shopping at Bluewater- it was absolutely manic as half the shops had midseason sales on. I wasn’t really looking forward to our shopping trip as Luke hates shopping and gets really bored after about an hour!

We started in M&S as the ushers cream suits are from there, so we thought they may have the same suit from last season but in chocolate – but nothing. Our next stop was Zara but no joy although I found a very nice dress for our party on the Friday night.

But, I thought I better not push it and try it on as the clock was ticking and I knew Luke would be getting bored soon. We tried House of Fraser where we found a very modern lightweight brown Paul Smith suit, but it wasn’t linen. We then had a little ‘debate” about why Luke needed a linen suit to match the ushers and he agreed the Paul Smith suit was not right.

We carried on walking round and we found “THE ONE””. It fits Luke like a glove, like it has been tailored to him – he is absolutely over the moon. The bonus was House of Fraser had a 20% sale on so it was a good price and within our budget. We picked the best day to go shopping! Luke was on a role so he decided to look for shoes so again we were in and out of every shoe shop you can imagine – the good thing was he had perked up as he was excited about his suit.

He found his shoes too in Office so it was an all round success, all what is left to do now is order his shirt from Marc Wallace and hope it looks good with the suit - which I know it will. Why is it that when men go shopping they always find what they need straight away? Whenever I go shopping it takes me weeks to find anything!

We met up with my bridesmaid Charlotte and her husband Chris as he was also looking for a suit for our wedding, which he also found.  As we have been struggling to find our bridesmaid shoes we dragged Luke and Chris around lots of shoe shops, but we were looking for Luke’s at the same time. Why is it when you are looking for a particular colour you can never find them?

I was planning on getting the girls silver shoes to match their bags and the beading on the dresses but have decided against it. A lot of the silver shoes in the shops look a bit too “bling” and I would like something more vintage looking - so we are now going for a pewter colour. We did actually see a nice pair in Barratts but the shop assistant was so rude we refused to buy them. We also saw a nice pair in Dorothy Perkins, which are really nice and only £30 so we are going to show the rest of the bridesmaids and see what they think.

To finish of our shopping trip we had a meal in La Tasca, to get us in the Spanish mood.  We ate lots of Tapas and drank Sangria and I bored everyone to tears with more wedding chat!

After all our stressing over the catering for our party we finally booked the hog roast! So it will be bean burgers for the vegetarians and pork rolls with apple sauce for everyone else!

I will tell you all about my wedding dress shopping next week

Sara
