  • The author of Only Fat People Skip Breakfast gives her tips on losing weight for your big day

1.    Decide to eat whatever you like except food containing refined sugar:  cakes, biscuits, sweets, chocolate etc.   Just cutting out this one food will make a huge difference to your shape, your skin, and your energy levels.

2.    Eat protein at every meal.   Fish, chicken, tuna, cottage cheese etc will get rid of your hunger and raise your metabolic rate so the food you eat gets burned up for energy and not stored as fat.

3.    Eat at regular intervals during the day.   Skipping breakfast will not make you lose weight, it will just make you hungry so you grab the nearest ready-made thing (crisps?).  The most important snack is mid-afternoon so make this something like fruit and yoghurt, or a banana and cottage cheese.

4.    Don't let two days go by without doing some kind of aerobic exercise, even if it's only a quick walk round the block.   Some light weight-training will ensure that your arms are slim and firm.   Everything else is hidden under the dress!

5.    See yourself slim: have a picture in your mind of yourself looking beautiful in your lovely dress standing tall and elegant with everyone admiring you.   I know this sounds a bit daft but when you programme your mind for success, your body will strive to help you achieve it.  Good luck.
