Weightloss tips from Neris Thomas
Author of Neris and India's Idiot-Proof Diet, she's lost five stone and knows just what you're going through!
1. Keep a visual reminder of something to do with your wedding with you at all times. It can be a swatch of material, a photo of you, or a little piece of paper in your purse with something that will re-focus your mind when you are wobbling (mentally not physically). I carry a piece of paper saying 'size 12 jeans' - it may sound superficial but it can stop me tucking into a bar of chocolate.
2. Be realistic. You may not look like Jennifer Aniston by your wedding day but it really is about looking like the best YOU can. Don't leave it until the day before your wedding, start now and concentrate on the things that will make you happy - do your nails while watching the telly, try out a new make up.. start your transformation now, no matter what size you are.
3. Reduce your carbs if you are a big carb eater. But do it sensibly. I
lost five stone because I liked the food I ate on my diet. I eat a combination of good fats and protein at every meal and didn't get bored (...much).
4. Start to drink more water to get really hydrated. Water suppresses your apppetite and I swear it gets rid of fluid retention. It also made me feel more energetic and more 'on the ball'.
5. Get out there and walk. Don't drive to the shops - walk, don't drive to the garage to buy a magazine - walk. Just little bits of exercise everyday will make you feel revitalised and you'll glow.
