The couple Jennie and David first met in 1997 when Jennie had locked herself out of her car, and David, a friend of her housemate, came to her rescue. They went their separate ways (David back to university and Jennie to work in Madeira) before getting together in 2000. David proposed five years later in the Villa Borghese in Rome. ‘I'd always wanted to visit Rome, and was over the moon when David said he was taking me there,' says Jennie. ‘After a hot day's sightseeing I began to get huffy and tired, but David was undeterred and led me to a quiet spot where he got down on one knee and produced the loveliest ring I've ever seen.'
