The couple
Stephen proposed at the top of the London Eye a few days before Christmas. “I thought we were treating my parents and his mother and step-father to a private capsule,” says Kathryn, one of the country’s leading wedding planners (020 7828 5535, www.kathrynlloyd.co.uk). “However when we got there they rang to say they were stuck in traffic and we would have to go alone. I was really cranky at first but I calmed down and decided to make the most of it. We were sipping champagne and chatting when Stephen got down on one knee, produced a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. He had a car waiting for us at the bottom to whisk us off for dinner and when we got home, the apartment was full of flowers and my wedding band was by the bed with a dozen red roses. The next day we went to Paris for the weekend.”
