The couple Sarah and Spencer met five years ago when they were sent to Cologne for the company they both worked for. They became instant friends and got together a couple of months later. Spencer proposed in a restaurant in San Francisco while they were on holiday. 'Things didn't go quite to plan,' explains Sarah, 'because as soon as Spencer had asked me to marry him, the waiter arrived with our food, and the poor guy didn't know what to do with himself - or our dinner! Luckily I said yes immediately, so we could begin the meal. But then we had an agonising wait to tell friends and family due to the time difference.'
