Wedding credentials: “My love for weddings started when I was eight years old; I’d run around the living room with a plastic tiara on my head, which carefully secured a white tea towel in place as I threw 'confetti' gum drops in the air. My dog, an old white boxer called Judy, was the bridesmaid. But of course, she was only there for the food. Thirteen years on, I still love everything about them and I’m super excited to be a bridesmaid for my sister this year. When I’m not interviewing brides-to-be and A-list designers, I'm writing about relationships, the latest beauty news and dream honeymoon destinations.”

Dream venue: “I’ve always loved the idea of having a low-key wedding abroad on the beach – think tikis, tipis and tousled waves. I used to worry that this was completely impractical guest-list wise but having seen some amazingly inspirational real weddings in the mag, I can see now how it could work for real.”

On-screen inspiration: “Completely cheesy but I’m a sucker for chick flicks (sorry to be a total girl) – I love the bit in Love Actually when Keira Knightley walks up the aisle and is surprised with an All You Need Is Love live band-choir-combo performance from disguised guests in the pews. Gets me every time!”

Fave aisle anecdote: “I went to a summer wedding where the couple had cocktails and canapés in the garden with peacocks wandering around while they had their pictures taken. It was a really lovely touch to their alfresco do.”

Words of wisdom: “Make lists: lots of them. I can’t get by a day without mine – there’s something psychologically rewarding about striking a line through stuff you’ve finally finished. Those things that seem unachievable in your head suddenly become more manageable when you see them written down on paper. Plus, it’s a great excuse to buy a cute notebook. Hello Smythson…”

Little loves: "A three-tiered cheese cake, Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, vanilla macaroons, peachy blushers, Chinese paper lanterns."
