We’ve scouted out a brilliant new way to make your wedding day extra special. You Make A Cake have recently opened a cake-decorating workshop for happy couples who want to design, make and bake their own wedding cakes.

Bring in friends and family to help bake up a storm and choose between a variety of different flavoured treats – one for each gorgeously decorated table. We think it’s a fab idea to show off your creative side, whilst sipping on champagne and relaxing with your nearest and dearest. Plus, there’s no need to buy the ingredients, tins or do any clearing up.

Tom Jackson and his bride-to-be Abbie Critchlow were the first couple to attend a workshop and create sweet touches for their big day. “Designing and creating our own cakes seemed like the perfect touch to the wedding”, says Abbie.

So why not don your apron and pop into the Wandsworth store? Rumour has it that A-lister Hugh Grant favours the shop and it’s a firm favourite of ours too. Each cupcake costs £2 (the larger cakes are £28) and you can even use edible pictures of yourselves to decorate each cupcake for only 50p per photo (that’s one photo for 12 cupcakes).
