Abbey Clancy yesterday became Abbey Crouch when she wed her Tottenham Hotspurs husband, the towering 6’7” Peter Crouch, at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, in the grounds of a luxury country hotel, Stapleford Park.

Abbey accentuated her curves in a bespoke creation by Giles Deacon, with a strapless, long-line lace bodice that fanned into an oversized fishtail skirt that gave way to a beautiful ripple-effect, rough cut train. She chose to accessorise the dramatic dress with a simple posy of white roses, some diamond drop earrings, and of course, that £200,000 diamond ring…maybe not so simple, after all. The only WAG touches? Those vampy red nails and smoky eye make-up, probably better suited to a wild night out than a conservative country wedding.

The couple looked beaming despite their rocky six-year relationship (drug allegations on her part, accusations of adultery with prostitutes on his). Perhaps it was partially because the couple’s three-month-old daughter, Sophia, was in attendance at the ceremony, as well as both pairs of now in-laws and the couple’s siblings. Or perhaps it was because of the service's sensational, show-stopping touches - reportedly trained falcons even swooped in to present the wedding rings!

The 150 guests then went on to enjoy the reception at the hotel’s restaurant, the Orangery, complete with a lavish meal and endless entertainment. Though the line up was rumoured to have consisted of a live band, a magician and karaoke, we’re sure guests were most excited to see Peter perform his signature move, the Robot – far more entertaining than any trained falcon.
