Jenn & Cody: In the beginning
Cody Specketer wanted to shout his love for girlfriend Jenn Marciante from a mountaintop, so he planned a dramatic proposal at Harney Peak, the highest point in South Dakota. But first he had to get her to the summit. “I love the outdoors and hiking with Cody, but that morning I was in a ‘can I stay in bed and hear all about it later?’ mood,” Jenn recalls. “If I’d decided not to go, it would have ruined everything!”
Luckily, she shook off her sleepiness and the couple climbed three miles to an abandoned lookout tower 7242 feet above sea level. “Before I could comprehend what was going on, Cody was down on one knee and I was bawling my eyes out. I remember thinking, ‘here I am, literally standing in the clouds, being asked to marry the man I love’. It was the greatest surprise of my life.”
