Princess-worthy royal wedding transport
News Just In: Prince William and Kate to travel in style
The Prince of Wales and Princess Diana in the State Landau on their procession from St. Paul's Cathedral after their wedding
Just when we thought the royal couple were coming over all modern monarchs on us, Prince William and Kate Middleton have added a fairytale flourish to their 29 April wedding day: some extra-special reception transport.
Wills and Kate will leave their ceremony as official prince and princess in Disney-worthy style, in the 1902 State Landau (or black, gold and red horse-drawn carriage to you and me) the same vehicle The Prince of Wales travelled to St. Pauls Cathedral in for his wedding to Diana, and that the couple also made their reception journey in afterwards.
But little girls everywhere will have their fingers crossed for April showers, since the back-up plan for William and Catherine come the great British weather is a Cinderella-esque exit in the Glass Coach.
There will be a grand total of five coaches in the procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, with the second and third both Ascot Landaus carrying best man Prince Harry, maid of honour Philippa Middleton and the bridesmaids, the fourth a Semi-State Landau carrying The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, and the fifth another Semi-State Landau carrying Prince Charles, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall and Mr and Mrs Middleton.
But the question now back on the tip of every tongue is whether those edgy Alexander McQueen wedding dress rumours were true will a fashion-forward bridal gown set off the picture-book procession, or might a traditional lace-and-tiara ensemble be more happily ever after ?
