Of all the TV and film proposals we’ve seen we have to say, Monica and Chandler’s engagement in Friends has to be one of our favourites of all time. The flickering candles were super romantic, and the fact that they both got down on one knee appeals to our feminist values.
We’re not the only ones who adored their proposal either, as one diehard fan’s partner knew she loved the proposal so much that he recreated it.
The couple were at Friendsfest (where you can tour the set of the show) when Adam Fishlock recreated the iconic scene, filling the replica apartment with dozens of candles and getting down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Claire Brierley.
“We both absolutely love Friends, and we came to the very first FriendsFest within our first month of dating,” he explained to Digital Spy.
“When I saw that FriendsFest was back for a third year, I knew that it would be the perfect place to propose to Claire as the event means so much to us both.”
“FriendsFest was one of our first memories together, so it was so special when I walked through the door to Monica's apartment to see it had been filled with candles, just like the Friends episode,” said Claire.
“When Adam appeared from around the corner, went down on one knee, and proposed, I couldn't believe he had done all this for me.
“It was such a magical moment, one that we will remember forever!”
