Home Real weddings Spring weddings Real Wedding: A Blue and Yellow Themed Day by the Sea return to landing page 5 of 10 The church wedding venue Gracie and Chris held their wedding ceremony at St. Mary The Virgin Church, followed by a reception at The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham on Crouch."We both love the area the venue is in, and have always said it's where we'll retire to with two sausages dogs," shares Gracie."We discussed where to hold the ceremony, and nowhere seemed more apt that The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club. The wedding colour scheme Inspired by the blue and yellow colours of their venue, the sunny shades became the colour scheme for the whole wedding day, with a touch of rose gold too. Yellow and blue popped up everywhere, from the blue and yellow arch at the church, to the wedding table decorations. They travelled in style, aboard a vintage coach, which Gracie cites as one of her most memorable bits of the day."My bridal party and I were driven to the church and my bridesmaid Megs played "going to the chapel"; we all started singing and waving to passers by and I knew it was going to be a good day," she says. The table names "We struggled when naming our tables, but were inspired by the fact that Chris is an avid reader," says Gracie."We sourced wedding related books and folded the pages over into numbers, which worked really well as centrepieces too."READ MORE: 24 Unique Wedding Table Name Ideas The table decorations Alongside the books, tables were decorated with an eclectic mixture of tall blue bottles, bold sunflowers, and an interesting object, ranging from compasses, telescopes and globes. Small succulents also adorned tables, all atop an embroidery hoop covered with map print fabric.READ MORE: Wedding table decorations and centre pieces: 25 interesting ways to dress up your tables The short wedding dress Gracie's short wedding dress was purchased from Ivory & Co. "I always knew I wanted sleeves and a ballerina length design," she reveals. We adore the full skirt, and the fact that it allows us to look at Gracie's Irregular Choice shoes. As Chris wears a suit everyday for work, he decided to wear top and tails on his wedding day. Gracie bouquet was a real talking point of the day, thanks to the combination of paper flowers, created by Artisan Rochford, mixed in with fresh flowers."It was incredibly heavy but really beautiful," says Gracie. "The paper folded and sculpted flowers looked amazing amongst the real." The bridesmaid dresses Gracie's bridesmaids all wore lemon yellow bridesmaid dresses, courtesy of Ronald Joyce. "It suited all of them, despite them all being so different in their day to day styles," comments Gracie. The wedding cake The wedding cake was made by Lottie Fox Edible Art."We opted for a six inch cake for cutting, and mini cupcakes," says Gracie. Advice for other couples "Know your own mind and run with what you want," says Gracie."There is so much choice, and everyone is on a different budget, but if you hunt around, you will find unusual pieces in the most random places."
