From the humanist ceremony, to the festival theme, to Laura's two-piece wedding outfit, they eschewed classic wedding traditions in favour of a more unique day, perfect for them as a couple.

The wedding venue
Laura and Ollie held their wedding at Fforest Farm in Pembrokeshire, falling in love with the outdoor space and range of accommodation on site.

"We knew right from the start that we wanted an outdoor festival feel wedding, where our guests could spend as much of the weekend with us as possible" says Laura.

"There was a beautiful farmhouse for the parents and grandparents to stay in on site, and more basic glamping so the majority of our guests could stay on site too."
Laura and Ollie had two ceremonies; the legal civil ceremony on Friday, and then a Humanist ceremony in a tee-pee on the Saturday, in front of all of their friends and family.

"We were really keen to make the ceremony very personal and relevant. We both love music and were adamant we wanted everyone to sing during the ceremony, so we taped the lyrics to Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’ to the bottom of everyone’s chairs and surprised our guests by getting them all to join in for a little rendition of the song!” shares Laura.

“We also did something called ‘Wedding Ring Warming’, which is one of several symbolic actions often performed at Humanist wedding ceremonies. It involved passing our wedding rings round to all our guests to warm with their hands whilst making a little wish for us or sending us a thought before we made our promises and exchanged the rings.”

READ MORE: 30 ways to personalise your ceremony
“We had lots of things we’d picked up along our travels and decoration ideas we’d collected from far and wide that we wanted to add to the tee-pee,” says Laura.

“We begged, borrowed and purchased Persian rugs for the aisle walkway, hung muslin material to create an archway from the tepee poles, put log stumps and candles around the bottom of the arch, lined the aisle chairs with jam jars of flowers, and our florist finished it all off on the Saturday morning adding green vines around the tepee poles and beautiful flower arrangements to the archway.”
The reception decorations
"Although Fforest is a beautiful setting, there were lots of little things we wanted to do to make it feel personal and extra special," says Laura.

"We really wanted the woodland setting to feel magical once the sun went down so fairy lights and tea lights were a big part of the decorations. We had paper lanterns and dream catchers hanging from trees and the corners of the smaller tepee shelters."

Rather than having traditional wedding table names, the couple used illustrator Tobias Illustrations' drawings of animals to name the tables.
The table decorations
"We decorated the banquet tables with hundreds of candles and jam jars full of flowers and tea lights," says Laura.

"My amazing mum had been collecting and cleaning jars for about two years and my wonderful Nan helped me decorate them all with lace."

READ MORE: Wedding table decorations and centre pieces: 25 interesting ways to dress up your tables
The naked wedding cake
The wedding cake was made by Lyn’s Cake Creations.

"We just wanted a fairly simple tiered naked sponge cake covered with berries and she did a wonderful job," says Laura.
The cheese wedding cake
"We didn’t have a dessert so we also had a cheese wheel cake with local cheeses from Caws Cenarth that one of our friends did an amazing job of putting together and decorating for us," shares Laura.

READ MORE: Cool cheese wedding cakes
The Rime Arodaky wedding outfit
Laura wore a Rime Arodaky two piece top and skirt purchased from The Mews.

"I very quickly knew I wanted a Rime Arodaky outfit, the tricky part was deciding which of the gorgeous designs I liked the most!" admits Laura.
"I didn’t want anything traditional and loved her unique, contemporary, yet classy and sensual designs and eventually settled on the Caplan and Pennington top and skirt."
"I loved wearing it on the day and the bonus is that I get a gorgeous top that I can wear again. I’m currently looking for some high waisted jeans to team it with!"

If you love Laura's wedding look, check out our edit of the best two-piece wedding dresses and trouser suits.
The red wedding shoes
"My shoes were gorgeous berry red velvet cut out heels that I got in the Reiss sale – I’d had this colour in mind as I wasn’t keen on wearing traditional white shoes and was over the moon when I found them, especially in the sale!"
The pink bridesmaid dresses
"I really wanted a relaxed, informal, boho vibe for the bridesmaids and flower girl and after lots of trying on, we finally settled on pink off the shoulder tea length dresses from ASOS," says Laura.

"I never ever thought I’d have pink bridesmaids, but they looked gorgeous and really suited the girls and the colour was great with the colours in the flowers."

Laura's flower girl wore a boho style dress from Monsoon.
The groom's attire
"Me, my best man and ushers all wore tweed, navy, three-piece suits hired from Victor Valentine," says Ollie.

"Combined with simple white shirts and pink tone Liberty flower print ties and pocket squares, we looked smart but also in keeping with the forest, boho vibe."

If you love Ollie's look, check out our gallery of blue wedding suits for inspiration.
The most memorable moment
"During the band’s final song, Mr Brightside, I took a moment to slowly turn around and watch everyone and then I caught Ollie’s eye across the dance floor. I properly welled up at that point with sheer joy and happiness….and I’m welling up now writing about it!" says Laura.

Advice for other couples
"Remember to take moments throughout the day to look around, soak it all up and take it all in. The day goes so unbelievably quickly and can all just be a blur so really do try to have moments that you look around and cement in your memory," advises Laura.
