Real Wedding: A Summer Wedding in the North Yorkshire Countryside with a Jenny Packham Dress
Jo's grecian inspired Jenny Packham wedding dress fitted their natural, neutral toned wedding day perfectly; they chose a muted palette to allow the flowers to do the talking, and talk they certainly did!
The whole day tied together like a dream, creating a romantic and relaxed wedding.

Jo and Al met at university in Durham, and got engaged in Paris.

Al took Jo to the french capital for her birthday, and proposed over dinner with a diamond from a jeweller that Jo used to work with.

Rather than proposing with a ring or a placeholder ring, Al picked a stone so Jo could design the ring herself.
Jo and Al held their ceremony in the village church that her parents got married in and she has been christened in.

They kept their reception close to home too, holding it at the Jo's family home, with a marquee in the next door neighbour's field.

Jo's mum is a florist at Paperwhite Flowers and adorned the whole church in beautiful white flowers.
The bridal bouquet
The flower scabiosa set the colour tone for the day, taking inspiration from the neutral tone for all of their decorations.

"In my bouquet I had creamy white peonies, David Austin patience roses, white Nigella, jasmine, lavender, thlaspi, fountain grass, white O’Hara roses, bombastic roses and scabiosa sternkugel,' Jo shares.

The floral arrangements
The same flowers were used in all of the arrangements for the day.

"Peonies are my favourite and we created a really beautiful textural mix," says Jo.
"We had the most amazing floral wreaths designed by my mum, which hung from the ceiling of the Papakata tent, these were a combination of greenery and white peonies," Jo shares.

"We also had tall Birch trees inside the tent to give it depth and interest. Outside the tent we had decorative urns filled with flowers and the bridge to the field was also decorated with beautiful flowers."

READ MORE: The Best Ways to Decorate your Wedding Marquee

"We didn't have a colour scheme really, we just wanted it to be really beautiful, complementing our incredible setting," says Al.

"Jo doesn’t wear much colour and loves natural tones so we kept it all quite neutral and let the flowers do the talking!
The table plan
Jo and Al's table plan was surrounded by glorious white flowers and is definitely one of the most beautiful we have ever seen.

READ MORE: Real Couples' Table Plans
The Jenny Packham wedding dress
Jo's Jenny Packham wedding dress was purchased from Blackburn Bridal in Blackheath, London.

"I saw it on a model at a Jenny Packham bridal event and fell in love with it then and there!"

"It was ruched around the bust with drop shoulders that I had fitted for a romantic look," says Jo.

"I wore a vintage 1930s cream flower hair garland sourced from eBay in my hair," she continues.

"My very talented friend Jennifer Howson did my hair and make up and wrapped the garland into a braid that was part of my up do."

READ MORE: 27 Ways to Wear Flowers in your Hair on your Wedding Day

Jo and Al opted for a nearly naked wedding cake, created by a local baker and flavoured with lemon.

They added a fun topper to finish off the look.

READ MORE: The Best Wedding Cake Toppers
The first dance
"We danced to Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay because it just felt so right for the setting," says Al.

"We actually had dance lessons so we had a bit of practice beforehand and it was actually a really lovely romantic way to spend time together in the lead up to the wedding."
The most memorable
"The church ceremony was immensely powerful – more than we’d expected," says Al.

"Seeing each other when Jo walked down the aisle was a moment we won’t forget."
"Being in a room with everyone we loved was the best feeling – very emotional and something very special."
Words of advice
"Don’t fret about the small stuff, what matters most is that you are getting married to the person you love and that you are surrounded by your family and friends, who are all in one place, just for you," says Al.
