Real Wedding: An Intimate Affair in the Cotswolds
The couple opted for a muted colour scheme of pastel pinks and greys, perfectly complemented by their light and airy floral arrangements. Flowers were in abundance on the big day, with trailing blooms decorating each and every surface.
Joyce wore an elegant Annasul Y. dress for her ceremony, followed by a bespoke Oscar de le Renta dress in the evening, accompanied with a killer pair of Jimmy Choo heels.

The wedding stationery
The soft pink wedding stationery sent out by Joyce and Stephen was a hint of the theme of their big day.

The invitations were understated yet beautiful with delicate floral designs and an elegant swirling font.
Floral stylist Joyce and her partner Stephen, who is a landscape architect, chose Barnsley House in Gloucestershire as their venue thanks to the amazing flower garden.

"It was a perfect setting for our wedding thanks to the very structured and and inspiring landscape design," share Joyce. "Our day was very much about flowers and plants and we decided to go for an ethereal look for the wedding, since it was based in this lovely place."

Built in 1697, the venue provides the perfect backdrop to intimate weddings such as Stephen and Joyce's, who hosted just 25 guests.

Wedding day decorations
Joyce and Stephen's wedding followed a colour scheme of pastels, blush pink, white and trailing green for a soft and natural feel.

"Our decoration was very much about flowers and plants, because we wanted an ethereal look for our wedding," explain Joyce.

The floral arrangements
As a floral stylist herself, it was only natural that Joyce chose exquisite flowers for her own big day.

She enlisted the help of florist Zita Elze to help bring her wedding day dream to life.

The arrangements had flowers including ammis, astilbes, delphiniums, scabiosa pods and astrantias, all blending together to create a truly beautiful floral look, exuding elegance and class.
The flower choice
With an extensive knowledge of flowers, Joyce knew exactly what she wanted, opting for the ones that provided an airy garden look, creating lightness and a delicate mood for the day.

The couple filled rustic vases with trailing blooms for a touch of countryside charm.
The chairs at the ceremony were adorned with soft textured blooms and trailing vines, creating an angelic look that perfectly complemented Joyce's dress choice.

The frothy flowers included in the floral arrangements made for a light and airy wedding day look, accentuated by the vivid green leaves.
"We wanted our reception to feel like a cottage home dinner, so we set up a long table to seat everyone," explains Joyce.

"The table was topped with flowers, placed in a collection of crystal and glass vases with an antique and vintage touch."

The couple created the table cards themselves, written in a calligraphy style, printed in grey to reflect the pastel theme of the flowers.
Zita Elze created a striking table centrepiece with this frame covered with mini plant pots, housing tiny sucklings, mini bouquets and little arrangements reflecting the larger floral displays on the day.
The wedding dress
Joyce's Annasul Y. dress was made to order, for it to fit her petite size. It was a vintage style gown embellished with delicate embroidery and soft lace detailing on the back.

"I thought my dress was so perfect for walking down to the vintage summer house on the grounds," enthuses Joyce.

For the reception Joyce changed into an Oscar de la Renta mermaid dress with pearl detailing.
Stephen wore a bold navy blue suit from Massimo Dutti, accompanied by a bowtie courtesy of Armani.

Joyce accessories her stunning dress with a beautiful flowing veil, placed on top of intricately braided hair.
Joyce lived the dream of shoe lovers worldwide, in a pair of glitzy gold Jimmy Choo heels.

The sky-high heels added inches to Joyce's height and were a gorgeous addition to her glowing white wedding dress.
Joyce's beautiful bouquet held host to peonies, blushing brides, jasmines, astilbes, dusty millers and berries; perfect for the June wedding.

The frothy blooms further instilled the light and airy nature of the day.
The wedding cake
The peach wedding cake was created by The Cake Parlour, and was topped with a flower arrangement courtesy of Zita Elze.

The pastel hue of the cake fitted perfectly with the theme for the day; both elegant and feminine.
