Tracy and Lee - The proposal

The childhood sweethearts met at school when they were 14 after being sat next to each other during Geography. They got together during sixth form when they were 16 and had been together ten years by the time they got married. After an intimate meal at home, Lee proposed on their nine year anniversary.

Tracy and Lee – The dress

Tracy opted for an ivory taffeta gown with a glistening jewelled bodice, asymmetrical wrap and a front skirt overlap by designers Sottero & Midgley.“I had tried six or seven dresses before arriving at Mignonette and was feeling a bit disheartened. They quickly turned my mood around by showing me the Sottero design which I loved straight away. I was the first person to try it on – it was perfect”.

Tracy carried a compact massed tied posy of ivory Avalanche roses with sprays of diamante between the flowers and grass looped over the design. The bridesmaid held a smaller version.

Tracy and Lee – The Venue

With a sprinkling of snow on the ground the Donneraile & Garden Rooms at the Mansion house, The Grove provided the perfect setting for Tracy and Lee’s wedding. “We loved the intimacy that these rooms provided and the high ceilings, elegant chandeliers and grand fire places created a romantic setting for our small wedding,” said Tracy.

Tracy and Lee – The ceremony

The couple opted for a non-religious ceremony, which was held at the Garden Room of the Mansion House. The simple and relaxed ceremony was accompanied by music from a string quartet that entertained guests throughout the day.

Tracy and Lee – The theme

With a small intimate wedding party of 20 people in the day, the couple decided on a simple colour scheme of silver and ivory. “The Mansion House provided an extremely luxurious and contemporary setting. Our chosen colour scheme was sophisticated but understated so that it didn’t overpower the venue.”

Tracy and Lee – The Flowers

To allow the venue to speak for itself the couple chose a row of five large glass cube vases filled with ivory Avalanche roses sat on square glass mirrors. They scattered tea lights and giant crystals from Marks & Spencer on the table and also had two oval matching Avalanche displays adorning the mantelpieces.

Tracy and Lee – The cake

Instead of a traditional cake, the couple opted for two flavours of tiered cupcakes. The delicious cupcakes came in carrot with vanilla icing decorated with silver beads and chocolate chip with white icing decorated with silver hearts from Cupcake Heaven. “We provided matching ivory boxes with silver organza bows for our guests to take their cupcake home if they wished,” says Tracy.

Tracy and Lee – Entertaining the guests

“In the evening we played music from a specially created wedding playlist on our iPod that had all our favourite songs. We were also entertained by a close-up magician, Stuart Watkins, who mingled with our guests,” says Tracy.
