They were planning their wedding from Hong Kong, where they were living at the time, so choosing a venue was more difficult for them than most."We asked some close friends for their recommendations, as we knew their parameters would be very close to what ours would be," explains Emily."They said they loved Hedsor House, so Marilyn Newman from At Home Catering, who planned our wedding, went to look at it for us and came back with a glowing review. We booked it on her recommendation and were not disappointed when we viewed it a month later." The ceremony Emily and Ben had an interfaith ceremony, led by a friend who is also a vicar. Emily has a Church of England background, while Ben is Jewish, so both of their traditions were reflected in the ceremony. "The structure was based on Church of England vows and readings, and the Jewish Seven Blessings were read by Ben's parents," shares Emily."The whole ceremony was held under a chuppah made by Ben's grandmother and used for various family weddings." The venue decor "The venue already looked pretty festive, with floral garlands and a Christmas tree, so we just added countless candles and flowers," says Emily."We didn't really have a wedding theme, but the day is best described as Winter Warmth. The colours were mostly dark green and cream, with hints of gold and sparkle."READ MORE: How to Decorate your Wedding Venue at Christmas The table decorations "Our day was inspired by the festive season," shares Emily. "It was generous, glamorous and very welcoming."Emily and Ben wanted to create a day where all of their guests felt included, and did this by having two large tables, rather than many smaller ones."It was the closest we could get to everyone sitting together," says Emily. Festive table decorations The tables were decorated with seasonal flowers, nuts, candles and fruit. Decorations included elegant glass pears, ivy wrapped candle holders, mistletoe and runners of grey, green and gold leaf.READ MORE: Wedding table decorations and centre pieces: 25 interesting ways to dress up your tables The glamorous wedding cake The cake was made by At Home Catering, and was a three tiered ivory wedding cake with gold accents. The bespoke wedding dress Emily had her wedding dress made especially for her by Kate Walker Bridal in Honiton, Devon. "It was a bespoke design based on a dress in Kate's signature collection, with several changes made to suit me," says Emily. "It had a soft fishtail with light petticoats for ease of wear and movement," she continues. "I was going for an elegant and timeless look. Classy and understated."READ MORE: Fabulous fishtail wedding dresses The green bridesmaid dress Emily's sister wore a dark green bridesmaid dress from Ghost."It was very elegant, and something she can wear again," says Emily. The flowers were chosen to create a warm palette, and complemented the theme of the day. The groom's attire The dress code was black tie optional, and Ben wore a very dapper suit. The highlight of the day "For both of us, the highlight was walking down the aisle after the ceremony, listening to the string quarter playing Somewhere Over The Rainbow with all of our family and friends in the same room," says Emily.
