Wow Winter Weddings: December Delights
Wow Winter Weddings December Decadence
a groom hugging a bride
After dating for three and a half years, Ant proposed to Hayley on the seafront in Le Touquet in France in June 2009. Wed stopped there on our way home as wed been on holiday there the year before when I was pregnant with our daughter, says Hayley. I had a feeling he was going to pop the question, but he still took me by surprise in the moment!
When it came to thinking about style inspiration for the big day and with the wedding date set for the 11th December, Christmas was never far from their minds

The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich
The couple had a riverside civil ceremony and a reception with a 120-strong guest list at The Trafalgar Tavern (trafalgartavern.co.uk) in Greenwich. From the very start, we really wanted to get married in a pub but we couldnt find one big enough as I have a large family, says Hayley. Eventually, we found The Trafalgar Tavern with its beautiful room upstairs. So we got our pub wedding, but with added glamour!

a bride wearing a white prom-style dress with a white fur cape
Hayley incorporated old-time charm into her W-day look with a prom-style dress from London boutique Fur Coat No Knickers (furcoatnoknickers.co.uk). Id been into the store for an initial try-on but nothing was quite right, says Hayley. When The Dress was brought into the changing rooms, I knew it was the one before I even tried it on. I know its cheesy, but I just knew!
Hayley also wore a hooded cape made by her mum and sister for a wintery-cool vibe, plus pearl jewellery to complete the vintage look.

I wanted to look like a film star, says Hayley. But it was important that I still looked like me. So I went for the Fifties look that Ive always loved just a posher, more polished version of myself! To create the glam look, Hayley combined red lippy with rollered va va voom hair, styled with a big, red flower.

We both wanted a big party, says Hayley. A big, loud, Christmas knees up! We ditched the traditional speeches, chair covers and sugar almonds in favour of an informal but classy do.
