Get Married Like a Movie Star
Stage your own show with a BAFTA wedding
"I'd like to thank my better half..." Tie the knot celeb-style at 195 Piccadilly...
Channel big-screen glamour on your big day by getting married on-stage at 195 Piccadilly, BAFTA's London home.
Attention-loving brides will adore being in the spotlight as they descend Oscar-style down the stairs to the stage of the venue's sumptuous Princess Anne Theatre a private screening room with red velvet seats thats endorsed by film legends including George Clooney, Madonna, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dame Judi Dench.
Steal the scene
Choose to wed here, and everyone gets a perfect view of the ceremony from raked cinema seating, so it'll be all eyes on you and your groom as you take your vows. We're thinking Oscar-quality lighting, red carpet, popcorn, and BAFTA mask-shaped chocolate table favours. Hollywood, eat your heart out!
Hire out the whole venue for £12000 (max capacity 300), or pick and choose from three licensed rooms plus other areas for canapés, a sit-down meal, DJ sets and dancing.
A-list only
The Run Run Shaw (named after a Japanese film director) is a more intimate mezzanine space (for up to 60) overlooking BAFTA's Members' Bar; combine a ceremony here with a special dinner for nearest and dearest in a luxe private dining room in a cube suspended above the bar below. Or make the cube a chill-out room, and site a DJ on the mezzanine while you and your guests throw some wedding-party shapes on a raised dancefloor to the rear of the bar area.
Supporting cast
Also at 195 Piccadilly, BAFTA's David Lean Room offers space for a ceremony and reception for up to 200 guests, but would not feel over-large for a smaller party of 100-180. With huge windows on three sides, which overlook a secluded garden for your ceremony and busy Piccadilly for city chic while guests enjoy drinks and canapés, this room is available from £3500.
Minimalist décor throughout the venue channels movie-star luxury, and in-house caterers offer the most stylish take on contemporary British cuisine.
Wrap party
Got married abroad and looking for a London venue for your post-wedding party? Wow your guests with a private screening of your wedding movie in BAFTA's Princess Anne Theatre, which seats 227 and boasts what it calls the best cinema facilities in London.
It offers top-of-the-range 3D with the recent installation of the brightest digital cinema projector in the world (officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records) the only venue in the capital with such up-to-the-minute technology.
So if your wedding was filmed in 3D, guests viewing it at your party will almost feel like they were there. Unless they think they're at the Oscars; not such a long shot at 195 Piccadilly; a central London venue that simply oozes star quality.
