To make this striking new interpretation of a pomander, Jane has chosen white roses that have been dipped in blue ink to create drama and attract attention. It’s best to buy them pre-dyed where possible as it can be very messy to dye them yourself at home.
The pomander could just as easily be made with alternative flowers such as carnations or peonies. She left a clear space at the top of the vase just to show that the water has been deliberately tinted as part of the design and that it’s not seeping in from the flowers.
