Our royal honeymoon predictions

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get married on the 19th May, where will they be heading on honeymoon?

We’re fast approaching the royal wedding on 19th May 2018 and as well as the burning questions of, what will Meghan wear and who will be invited, we’re also asking, where will they be going on honeymoon?

Bath tub views at Duba Plains Camp in Botswana

Their mutual love for Africa and animals suggests that the couple may be embarking on a safari adventure together.

Botswana is a country close to both Harry & Meghan and the diamond in her engagement ring was in fact sourced from the country! The Duba Plains Camp is one of the most luxurious retreats in the area and the couple will be sure to see the big five from here.

A quiet retreat at Rutundu Mount Kenya

Prince William proposed to Kate in Kenya, so this magical country has definitely family ties. Rutundu Mount Kenya is completely off the beaten track and will give the newlyweds chance to fully relax and unwind in peace.

Animal spotting in Hoanib Valley Camp

Hoanib Valley Camp in Nambia opens in May, just in time for Harry & Meghan to be among the first to experience its luxury. With only six guest tents, this amazing camp offers up ultimate privacy. The royal couple will be likely to spot elephants, giraffes and endangered rhinos on their safari stay.

Poolside perfect at Montpelier Plantation & Beach

The Caribbean is another region held in high regard for the Prince.

He visited Montpelier Plantation & Beach upon the island of Nevis back in 1993 with his mother. Because this Caribbean retreat has fond memories, he may wish to revisit with his new wife.

Sunshine and relaxation at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort

During Harry’s recent tour of the Caribbean, he checked out Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort, so perhaps this luxe resort set upon an idyllic beach is in the running too?

Idyllic luxury at North Island, Seychelles

In a bid for ultimate privacy, it’s possible that Harry and Meghan will opt for a secluded private island getaway.

Kate and Wills did something similar when they honeymooned in the North Island, Seychelles, so perhaps Harry and Meghan will follow in their footsteps with a beachy break. The best way to describe the North Island in the Seychelles is as an idyllic sanctuary. It has a clear ‘Robinson Crusoe’ vibe where guests can truly relax and unwind. Just what the royal couple will need after being in the limelight!

Turquoise tranquility in Mirihi Maldives Resort

Or, of course, there’s the Maldives. Who doesn’t want to honeymoon in the Maldives? Mirihi Maldives Resort has romance written all over it. The happy couple will be free to snorkel with white and black tip reef sharks, octopuses, and green turtles.

An island escape at Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort

Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort can only be accessed via helicopter, making it a truly private escape, away from everything. Once the newlyweds touch down they will be treated to pristine sands and some of the clearest waters on the planet.

Mexican charm at One&Only Palmilla

Meghan is well travelled and spent a lot of time in Mexico as a child, so a trip back to the country that holds a special place in her heart could be on the cards. We think they’d like somewhere like One&Only Palmilla, a honeymooning haven with panoramic views across the Sea of Cortez.

An Irish getaway at Adare Manor

More of a wildcard, but in the mix nonetheless, we have the glorious honeymoon destination of Ireland. The low-key proposal (with the pair at home roasting chicken), could suggest more of an understated honeymoon. And, let’s not forget that Kim and Kayne actually honeymooned on Irish soil. If it’s good enough for Kimye… The five-star hotel, Adare Manor would be the perfect spot for the newlyweds with its grand décor and fine-dining. And for a bit of fun, the pair can challenge themselves with a spot of archery or fishing during their stay.

Whether it be a five-star, luxury getaway or a more chilled-out post-wedding retreat, we can’t wait to find out where the royal couple will be jetting off to on their honeymoon.
