Stylish safari honeymoon

Ngerende Island Lodge, Kenya

If you and your partner want to go on safari for your honeymoon, why not do it in style at one of Kenya’s newest five-star luxury lodges?

Ngerende Island Lodge is a truly magical destination and one of Kenya’s best kept secrets.

The beautiful boutique overlooks the Mara River and borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Honeymoon Suite

Each of the lodge’s seven luxury en-suite canvas and wood suites has its own terrace area with breathtaking views.

From the incredible vantage point of your room, or open-air bath, you can even see crocodiles and hippos wallowing in the waters.

The intimate honeymoon suite, complete with its personal plunge pool and jacuzzi, is situated slightly away from the main lodge, providing privacy for newlyweds who really want to splash out.

Ngerende prides itself on offering guests the ultimate in fine dining, with its food on a par to that served up in many top London restaurants.

The three-course lunches and five-course dinners are exquisitely presented and you can dine in the stunning restaurant – or right on the banks of the Mara River overlooking the hippos.

You can also experience a Masai BBQ in the bush, with warriors dancing round a purpose built bonfire dinner and serve up traditional Masai grub.

The Big Five

Ngerende has an incredible array of wildlife and its proximity to the breathtaking, sprawling savannahs of the Masai Mara make it ideally situated for game drives.

The best time to go on a game drive is early morning or just before sunset – when the animals are at there most active. If you are lucky you might spot the big five – elephant, lion, cape buffalo, rhino and the elusive leopard.

Other Amazing Wildlife

There are plenty of other amazing creatures to watch in their natural habitats including giraffes, zebras, crocodiles and over 400 species of birds.

You can also pay a visit to a rhino sanctuary, around a 15 minute drive from the lodge, that rears white rhino. Originally brought in from South Africa there are now five rhinos roaming on its hillside and you’ll be amazed at just how close you can get to them.

Post-Safari Pampering

On your return you’ll find a luxurious bubble bath prepared on a daily basis by your personal butler, along with a romantic real log fire burning in the hearth.

A three-night package at Ngerende Island Lodge, including international Kenya flights, airport transfers, accommodation on a full board basis, two extended game drives per day and a half hour massage starts from £1085 per person, based on two people sharing.
