Honeymoons are key when it comes to relaxing and reflecting on the hectic months gone by and give you a chance to enjoy the very beginning of married life without any of the day-to-day distractions – bliss!
In 2019, more and more couples are choosing to allocate larger chunks of their budget to their honeymoons. Thanks to platforms such as Instagram, many couples are in pursuit of that perfect trip, but it doesn’t come cheap. A recent survey by Opodo.co.uk revealed that the perfect honeymoon costs a pricey £2,125.
The team at Opodo didn’t just reveal the cost of an Instagram-worthy honeymoon, they’ve also filled us in on where to go, how long to go and what to do while you’re there – right down to how many candlelit dinners you should enjoy!
While you may want to make your own rules when it comes to romantic meals, it’s definitely worth picking up some inspiration from the survey. It’s the trip of a lifetime and so you can never do too much research, right?
The online travel agent found that the perfect honeymoon should last 12 days and consist of two spa treatments, four romantic walks on the beach, four candlelit meals and two social media updates. Oh, and apparently most couples are willing to spend an average of 11 hours getting there!
The survey also revealed the top 10 honeymoon destinations for Brits, and the activities that need to be included to make it the trip of a lifetime.
The dream destinations for Brit honeymooners are as follows – is yours on the list?
