Located in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales’ Wye Valley, and just moments from the famous Brecon Beacons, Llangoed Hall is definitely a get-away-from-it-all kind of retreat. The stunningly grand mansion house, gorgeous grounds and scrumptious food make it easy to stay put – but the nearby literary town of Hay-on-Wye is also worth an outing.
The stunning grand mansion house
We headed to this hotel for utter relaxation – and that is what we got! Our days at Llangoed Hall were spent strolling along the meandering River Wye, cosying up by crackling fires and kicking back in our charming room with a glass of wine (or, indeed, a little glass of complimentary sherry). Be sure to make dinner reservations at the restaurant, which has been voted one of the best in Wales. Celebrated chef
Nick Brodie created an absolutely outstanding and memorable dinner for us. The hotel is also fully licensed for weddings, with the pretty gardens making the ideal spot for al fresco vows in the warmer months.
