Mini-moon review: Lucknam Park

Y&W’s Rachel escapes to the countryside for the ultimate spa break

WHERE Lucknam Park is a quintessentially English country hotel, set in an enormous 500-acre estate. The drive through the glorious grounds gives you a hint of the beauty to follow. It has a tranquil ambiance, but is just six miles from Bath, so it’s great for a spot of sightseeing and shopping.

The dreamy spa

WHY Checking into our suite and finding a log fire already burning was the first highlight of our stay, and the promise of incredible food was the only thing that could tear us away from our luxurious new home! Try the modern Brasserie for tasty dishes, or for fine-dining, the stunning, Michelin-starred Restaurant Hywel Jones is absolutely exquisite.

Our cosy room

One day here isn’t enough to make the most of all of the amazing facilities. From horse riding and countryside walks, to complimentary yoga classes and afternoon tea, you’ll just want to do it all. As the weather wasn’t so kind, we opted for total relaxation in the unbelievably beautiful spa, and our massage was truly indulgent – right down to the scented eye mask and heated bed. Utter bliss!

An opulent setting for dinner
