1. You will be absolutely knackered.
We mean positively zonked. After all of that hard work wedding planning and the adrenaline-filled rush of the big day, you’ll be feeling surprising drained and will probably want to spend the first half of your honeymoon snoozing on the beach. Sounds like a plan to us!
2. You will have an argument
Despite it being, quite literally, the honeymoon period, it’s likely that you’ll have a bicker or two. Whether it’s a debate about poolside or beachside or a heated discussion over which restaurant to eat in, there’s going to be a little something that you disagree on. But, try not to let a tiff wind you up for the whole holiday – just kiss and make-up.

3. The honeymoon blues are totally a thing
Think about holiday blues and then times that by 1,000. You’ve just gone on your dream holiday that you’ve been planning for ages and now you’re back to reality. It will be a massive comedown but you can always re-live your time through photos – be sure to post periodical ‘throwbacks’ on Instagram and you could even consider inviting your pals round for an evening slideshow of your holiday snaps!

4. You will spend a lot of money
You’ll go through your honeymoon with the ‘we’re only on honeymoon once’ mindset and quite rightly too. However, booking in those once-in-a-life-time activities and going for champers at brekkie will add up. All the more reason to add honeymoon contributions to your wedding gift list (check out Patchwork, where your guests can add anything from a luxury massage to an extra night at your hotel)

5. Your honeymoon wardrobe will go to waste
You might have spent hours scrolling through ASOS looking for a fierce stripe jumpsuit and super-chic espadrilles to match, but once you hit those golden sands you’ll be pulling out the same slip-on dress and flip-flops each and every day.

6. You’ll fall in love all over again
There’s something about ‘the honeymoon period’ that really is utterly magical. You’ll look at your new husband in a totally different light and fall in love with him a little more.
7. You’ll discuss your wedding all of the time
From the moment your dad shed a tear to the way that everyone was stood in amazement during your coordinated, well-rehearsed first dance, you’ll want to re-live every moment again and again.
