Bridal Beauty School: English Rose

We've teamed up with make-up artist Hannah Martin at Bobbi Brown to show you how to create a pretty English rose look.

Tying together your wedding look is an exciting task. From selecting your wedding dress to choosing a complementary bridal hairstyle, this will likely be the most thought out and important look you’ll ever create.

Your wedding makeup is also a key part of your look and can mean the difference between you feeling like the best version of yourself on the day or like you’re wearing mask. To avoid the latter and to keep your wedding budget happy, many brides are opting to take control of their wedding makeup and DIY their look.

If you’re thinking of doing your own makeup, then we think it’s important to do plenty of research and get as much advice from professional makeup artists as you can. From the tools to use to application techniques and product recommendations, the experts know exactly how you can fool-proof your wedding day makeup.

To get you started on the way to makeup master status and to share one of our favourite bridal beauty looks, we turned to Bobbi Brown’s Hannah Martin, who was only too happy to show us how to achieve that perfect English Rose look.

The look is a seamless blend of traditional blush bridal hues and modern techniques that give makeup a fresh yet flawless feel. As a master makeup artist, used to creating looks for camera, Hannah knows exactly how to ensure your look highlights your features and looks fabulous on camera.

With a wedding photographer and plenty of phone cameras snapping away, you’ll be glad you spent that extra bit of time ensuring your look stands up in front of the lens and not just in person.

Let Hannah explain the look before stocking up on products and giving it a go yourself. Remember, practise makes perfect and trying the look more than once before the day is the key to feeling relaxed and confident with the makeup brush.
