Bridal Beauty School: hen party make-up

We've teamed up with make-up artist Cassie Lomas at Bourjois to show you how to create a pretty-in-pastels hen party look

Chances are you’ve probably spent ages thinking about your wedding makeup look and pairing it with your dress, hair and accessories. If you’re anything like us, you’ve got a Pinterest board dedicated to your makeup, with dozens of stunning looks.

While your bridal makeup is, of course, the most important, we want to talk about your hen do makeup. We think for most brides-to-be, their hen do look is far from their mind and many of us just end up sticking with our tried and tested ‘night out’ makeup.

While your standard makeup may be your go-to for a reason, we think there’s no harm in exploring other options. After all, your hen do is a great opportunity to try new things and check out how they look on camera ahead of the big day itself.

It’s also a chance for you to test out products and even trial a makeup artist. Your hen do is likely to last several hours and so you can test the staying-power of your foundation, mascara and lipstick, making sure each product is worthy of your wedding day makeup bag.

You can also book your wedding makeup trial on the day of your hen do night out and ask the makeup artist to layer over extra eyeshadow or lip colour (so you don’t reveal your bridal look ahead of the day!) to give you a glam evening look. You can then make sure you feel comfortable with your makeup artist and test the makeup’s staying-power.

If you’re sold on the idea of giving something new a try for your hen do, then check out our video below. With the help of master makeup artist, Cassie Lomas, we show you how to create a beautiful, pastel makeup look that’s simply perfect for your last night of freedom!
