Deliciously Ella’s best beauty tips

Food and health blogger Ella Mills reveals her ultimate beauty tips to celebrate the launch of her organic skincare line with Neal’s Yard Remedies.

Ella Mills, aka Deliciously Ella, has long been an advocate of a healthier lifestyle, creating recipes with natural, plant-based ingredients. With so much focus on beauty from the inside, it was only a matter of time before she turned her attention to beauty on the outside, in other terms, skincare.

After much secrecy, she finally revealed her collaboration with natural skincare brand Neal’s Yard, which promises a “beautiful blend of fresh, organic ingredients for a radiant glow”.

The line features two products, a rose, lime and cucumber facial and a moisturiser made with the highest quality ingredients: organic rose and lime essential oils infused with cucumber water and antioxidant-rich blueberries and acai to moisturise and enhance your complexion. A superfood for your face if you will.

To celebrate the launch, we caught up exclusively with Ella, who shared her ultimate beauty tips…

Eat Well. The way to your skin looks for a lot of people is connected to the way we eat, your five a day really does make a world of difference to your skin. I noticed that when I changed the way I was eating (Ella took up a whole goods, plant-based diet and cut out processed foods, wheat, dairy and refined sugar after being diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome in 2011). It’s fresher and brighter. Things like smoothies and juices are amazing as it’s such an easy way to chuck them in without worrying about your five a day through different meals. Trying to get lots of rainbow colours in your fruit and veg, and having less processed food is also great.

Drink lots. Water is the most boring thing but so underrated, with how much hydration makes a difference to your skin.

Exercise. Movement helps, on a physical and mental level. It gets rid of stress and makes you feel your best, which in turn is often elected in outwards experience.

Sleep. You hear it all the time, but trying to get at least seven hours’ sleep does make a difference. All these different things are connected, if you sleep well, you’re more likely to want to get up and exercise, eat better etc. Once you’re in that positive cycle it’s much easier to keep it up.

Pick your skincare carefully. It’s important to me to use natural products, at home I try to use them as much as possible. I actually much prefer the sensation of them on my skin, they feel much lighter.

Ditch the make-up when you can. If I’m at home during the week cooking, I love the feeling of not wearing any make-up, you feel really fresh.

Mix and match. If I feel my skin is a little tight, I like to add rose or argan oil to my moisturiser for a richer night cream.
