Put a bowl of water by your radiator at night. This will increase the moisture in the air and immediately make your skin feel more hydrated.

Over-done the sun? Whole milk yoghurt makes an excellent skin soother. Apply to affected areas to take the heat out of sore spots.

If (god forbid) you get a spot on your wedding day, don’t panic – it can be covered! Make-up-artist-to-the-stars Daniel Sandler says to use a concealer in a stick or compact as they are thicker. Use a fine brush to apply a little product to the centre of the spot and blend outwards. Next sweep a clean cotton bud around the edge to remove excess, then dust with loose powder to set. Try Daniel’s Knock It On The Head concealer, £9, for the job.

Freeze 24/7 Anti-Wrinkle Cream, £87.90, stops wrinkles in their tracks. Within minutes fine lines disappear and won’t come back for up to 24 hours!

To gently bring the colour back into your cheeks, after even just one application, use Rose Formula Anti Oxidant Facial Mask, £14, Neal’s Yard Remedies.

Eve Lom believes that less is more when it comes to looking after your skin. Cleanse with her famous balm, £45, and then apply moisturiser only where you need it and ‘you’ll be surprised,’ she says, ‘how quickly your skin will improve.’ If the worst happens her Dynaspot, £17.50, is said to clear blemishes in 24 hours – brilliant.
