That’s why we’ve taken a look at the most tried and tested methods of getting wedding worthy by the people who know best what works for the lead up to saying ‘I do’! After scouring the most popular threads on the forum, we’re here to tell you what works for our brides.

30 Day Shred

Jillian Michaels of The Biggest Loser fame, boasts a range of high intenity fitness DVDs that will have you aching for days, but according to You & Your Wedding brides, they work a treat! Ibarr10 from our forum can impressively tell us, “I used the 30 Day Shred before my wedding in June and managed to lose a stone between that and dieting”. A previous bride-to-be, forum member xmhairix agrees, “Yes I am a sad 30 Day Shred addict. Good luck, keep training, enjoy the benefits and be careful because you may end up having to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe that you fit into”. Sounds good to us!

Slimming World

A range of diet plans are popular on the forum, but Slimming World seems to get most of the attention! The key selling point of Slimming World is that no food is banned, you should never go hungry and thanks to meetings and online groups you always feel supported. Forum member Poppins says, “I started last August and lost a stone in the first month. The diet really does work if you put in 100% and plan your food – it’s rather easy really! Sometimes it’s too good to be true!”.

5:2 Diet

The 5:2 diet works on the idea that it’s good to have irregularity in your diet and that by ‘fasting’ for two days in the week you will lose weight, even if you eat normally for the other five days. On your fast days you should only consume 500 calories and exercise is not advised. Forum member Roo123 says, “It’s such a great diet that I find it so easy, and I really LOVE food, but I find that knowing you can still pretty much eat what you like on non-fast days great”.

My Fitness Pal

This clever app is loved by many of the You & Your Wedding users. It works by recognising the foods you eat, either from a description by you or just scanning their barcodes, and keeping a log of all the calories you intake. By entering details such as your weight and height, you can work out and set targets for how much you should be eating of which food groups and how much exercise you should be doing. Forum member Popsyxx says, “I lost two stone using My Fitness Pal in about a year. It’s now only 10 months to our wedding and I’m hoping to lose about another stone”.
