1 Eat breakfast every morning which will stop you from craving unhealthy snacks mid morning

2 Combine protein with carbohydrates at every meal to keep blood sugar balanced and curb appetite

3 Eat fat! Essential fats found in oily fish and unsalted nuts and seeds actually help you to lose weight by speeding up your metabolism.

4 Eat slowly and chew well. It takes the brain 20 minutes to register that you have had enough to eat!

5 Lastly, do not weigh yourself – you will know if you have lost weight by how your clothes fit
