Whether you’ve just started a new exercise routine in the build-up to your wedding or you’re a long-time fitness fanatic, it’s always a good idea to seek out new ways of getting active and keep surprising your body with some new moves!
While you may be agreeing with us in theory, your hectic schedule may be making it impossible to invest the time you’d ideally like in toning your w-day body. With so many details to decide on, timings to coordinate, dress fittings, makeup trials and guests RSVPs to chase, you’ve got more than enough on your plate.
What busy brides like yourselves need from a workout routine is something simple and fuss-free that you can squeeze into your day, between work and wedmin – and some time with the spouse-to-be, of course!
With this in mind, we approached Sally Dixon, director of Every Second Counts pilates, who was happy to give us some exclusive moves that can be done at home, with minimal equipment and in no time at all. Sounds pretty perfect to us.
Don’t let Sally’s easy-to-master moves fool you though, each move is designed to build and sculpt muscle, so expect to get your sweat on! The first of the moves Sally will take you through involve the abs and will help to get you looking svelte in your wedding dress (and in your bikini on your honeymoon!).
To get the best out of the workout, we recommend eating a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, complex carbs and protein. Squeezing in some cardio is always a good idea too, whether it’s a romantic after dinner stroll, a relaxing swim or just getting off the tube a stop early and walking to work, every step or stroke counts!
Now, slip into your active wear and get ready to work!
