The interior of Thornback & Peel’s new London store
This month sees the launch of British print label Thornback & Peel’s first ever high street store in London’s Bloomsbury. If you’re a bride-to-be in love with the eccentric, surreal and best of British, their playful print range should appeal. With rabbits, jellies, pigeons, hearts, fish, beetles and even a strong man printed onto tea towels, napkins, hankies, deckchairs, aprons and notebooks, their collection of extremely useful and nice to look at home paraphernalia are surely gift list essentials!
They’re inspired by the likes of Mrs Beeton, Victoriana, 17th century natural imagery and Alice in Wonderland and what’s more, their print studio – where all their designs are created – is a mere stones throw away. How’s that for locally made craft?
For a DIY-themed hen do or if you fancy turning your own hand to a bit of printing, they’re planning to open in-store workshop sessions soon as well.
Thornback and Peel, 7 Rugby Street, London, WC1N 3QT (020 7831 2878), firstname.lastname@example.org. Opening times: Monday to Saturday (11am-6pm).
