Zita Elze has launched a unique range of bridal gowns for brides who are looking for the ‘au naturel’ look this season. The dresses are made from real flowers, leaves and natural plant material. Each dress is custom-made, with hundreds of dried and skeletonised magnolia leaves used to embellish the skirts and bodice for a fresh floral feel.
Elze recently premièred her new collection ‘The Zita Elze Living Embroidery Bridal Collection’ at the Chelsea Flower Show this year.
Famed for her previous floral wedding designs, Kew-based Zita is sure to be a success in her bridal wear too. Here at Y&YW and Cosmo Bride HQ we think she’s got real wedding day wow-factor.
So where did she find her inspiration? ‘Carrying a bouquet of flowers isn’t enough,’ Zita enlightened us, ‘I want to design the bride’s gown with the same textures, colours and feeling that only flowers can create’. The Duchess of Cambridge recently used flowers as inspiration for the lace-detail on her dress, shoes and cake (if you haven’t already, the Royal Wedding Dress exhibition is a must-see!) – it seems Zita has outdone royalty by taking this idea to the next level.
Each dress is handmade and created days before the big day so that flowers will be at their fullest and most beautiful. Match one up with a stunning bouquet, veil, hairpiece, sash or other floral garments available from Zita, for a posy-perfect look.
Brides-to-be can choose to commission all or part of a gown, as well as any additional accessories. Gowns start at around £5,000, with accessories from £200.
