Mary-Kate Olsen had the weirdest wedding centrepiece

Mary-Kate Olsen married Olivier Sarkozy this weekend and had some very unusual wedding decorations to say the least.

Congratulations to Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy, who reportedly tied the knot on Friday, a day after Thanksgiving.

The 29-year-old fashion designer said ‘oui’ to 46-year-old French banker Olivier – who is also the half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy – after thee years of dating.

They had a very intimate ceremony in New York, with only 50 friends and family members in attendance.

The media-shy couple asked guests to hand over their phones when they arrived, so no pictures would appear online.

According to Page Six, the reception took place at a friend’s house, and included cocktails in the private garden, before dinner indoors.

So far, so standard right? Well, not one to stick to traditions, Mary-Kate opted to have some very unusual centrepieces.

Instead of having giant flower arrangements, she opted for “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes” instead, and “everyone smoked the whole night.”

It’s unclear how big the bowls were, if they were gold perhaps, or just plain see-through, so we’ll leave that to your imagination.

Health issue aside, we’ll give the couple points for originality.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for details of Mary-Kate’s wedding dress, but we’ll take a wild guess that she designed it with the help of her twin Ashley.

In a WWD interview last year, she said of wedding gown designing, “I’m, like, not even there yet. I think it may be a matter of getting five or six or making two or three and being stressed out. That seems kind of far away. We’ll take one step at a time.”
